Foothill Ultimate
Welcome to Foothill Ultimate. We are a Pleasanton-based Ultimate frisbee team focused on building skills and practicing the Spirit of the Game.
We welcome 6th through 12th graders of all genders, from serious athletes to casual players. Our Spring season kicks off in January, with practice twice a week. We participate in the BADA Spring Leagues, with tournament play in April and May.
Ultimate is a great opportunity for those who want to try something new without the major commitment of a travel sport. Swing by a practice and check it out!
I don’t know how to throw a frisbee. Isn’t that required?
Nope, we can teach you! (Coach Grant didn't learn how to throw a frisbee until after he joined his college Ultimate team.)
But I have other activities. Can I really add a new sport?
Maybe! This is not your typical sports league. We offer one weeknight and one weekend practice per week. If you can only make it to one, that’s okay.
I prefer school sports. Why should I play?
Ultimate is an amazing opportunity to connect with students and players beyond the borders of existing school leagues. The benefit of being an independent team with BADA means that our players hail from different towns and schools - not to mention all genders and a range of ages.

About Ultimate
Ultimate frisbee is a low-contact team sport played on grass, turf, and even sand. Teams field seven players a side, with the goal to pass the frisbee between players on the field until an offensive player catches the disc in the scoring endzone.
The sport is governed by the Spirit of the Game' which stresses the importance of sportsmanship on and off the field to reinforce respect between opponents. Ultimate is played across all age groups through three divisions: open (open to all), mixed (co-ed), and women’s.
Bay Area Disc Association
Foothill Ultimate operates as an independent team and participates in events sponsored by the Bay Area Disc Association.
The Bay Area Disc Association was founded in 2009 by the leaders of the San Francisco Ultimate League, San Francisco Ultimate Club, Bay Area Youth Ultimate, East Bay Ultimate League, and Marin Ultimate Summer League.
Bay Area Disc is an independent organization with more than 100 distinct ultimate programs per year across the region, incredible momentum behind the growth of ultimate, and a group of committed and professional Board of Directors strategically guiding our mission.
